Hey everyone, I've been following all the news you all have been posting on the site here about the upcoming movie and just wanted to say that you guys are doing an excellent job. I'm not sure if this has been posted yet on here, but I'm sure a lot of you remember Craig Lieberman who helped with the first two movies. He runs a site (MovieCarz.com) where people can post up their cars in a database that makes it easy for production companies and whatnot to go through and search for cars that they may want to appear in tv episodes/movies/commercia
ls things like that. Anyways, I was checking out the site today as it was a while since I was last on it, and I came across a memo on there advertising for casting calls for the cars for the new movie. Here is the direct quote from "MovieCarz.com"....

FAST & FURIOUS 3 CASTING CALL COMING UP SOON!!

Details are sketchy, but here's what we know: The sequel is supposedly being written now. It has been reported that Vin Diesel will return. We have no information on what city, state or region will host the filming, nor do we know if the script will revolve around SUV's on DUBS or on Drifting.

WHAT KIND OF CARS WILL BE CONSIDERED?

IT IS OUR BELIEF that since this movie is now a major franchise, Universal will intelligently look to place the main cars through traditional paid product placement. This is not a bad thing...in fact, in might be quite good. However, this will most probably eliminate the need to cast major vehicles from the public realm. However, they will most assuredly need "extra" cars.

UPDATE: March 18th: Due to confidentiality agreements with Universal, we cannot reveal too much. However, it is our suggestion that those interested in being involved should concentrate on drifting-style vehicles. It is our belief that the Subaru WRX, Nissan 350Z and Neon SRT4's and 240SX's should be considered most aggressively for this film...if the film re-focuses on the tuner world. If not, we'd expect a much higher chance of the use of exotics, i.e. Porsches, Ferraris. We'd expect that cars you've already seen (Skylines and Evo's) would most likely be cast in much smaller roles, if at all. It of course is possible that this movie may revolve around any new car looking to being promoted, from the new Pontiac GTO to the BMW 6 series...we'll see. REGISTER YOUR CAR ON THE SITE NOW! The folks at Universal know our site well and will almost certainly contact us again to support them. We will happily open review of the site to them at no charge, BUT WE HAVE CUURENTLY HAVE NO PLANS OF PLAYING A LARGER ROLE THAN THIS. As I mentioned before, I'm not sure if anything has been posted yet on this matter, but saw it and figured it was a good perspective on what this movie most likely will involve straight from a credible source. With the past two movies, MovieCarz.com has always been sorta like an insiders source for getting insider info. Hope you all find this helpful!
